The Beginning
The journey towards what is now known today as WOSEM Bible Institute started in June 2011 when Pastor Abraham Obadare, while inaugurating new officers for CAC (WOSEM) Queens Church, selected the duo of Pastor Ola E. Jewoola and Elder Samuel Afuape as facilitators for the establishment of WOSEM Discipleship College.
Expansion of the Project
Thereafter, membership base was extended to CAC (WOSEM) New York City Churches located in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Far Rockaway. Dr. Dotun Akinfeleye, who at that time was Queens Church Head of Ministry, also joined as a valued member of the Bible School Project.
Representatives from Sister Churches nominated and announced in the NYC Board/Workers Meeting of June 2012 were Evangelist Olu Obafemi of Far Rockaway, Evangelist Abiola Babalola of the Bronx, and Brother Gbolade Adeyemi (formerly of Brooklyn and Far Rockaway Assemblies).
Vision and Purpose
From the onset, WOSEM Bible Institute was envisioned as a New York District Training and Education Project (TEP) where WOSEMITES and other believers in the New York area will have unfettered access to a learning center which can give them basic ministerial, biblical, and leadership skills necessary for success in their present or future callings.
Like other Church-Centered Bible Schools, WOSEM Bible Institute is a Ministry within the larger Ministry of Christ Apostolic Church (WOSEM) Worldwide, and it exists primarily to teach the Word of God from real-life experience and revelation-based knowledge of its Instructors, enveloped in Bible-grounded contexts.
Official Launch
WBI opened the door to her first set of Certificate-level students on December 14, 2013, after a series of preinaugural activities, including mobilization visits to Sister Churches, formal presentations in different fora, open house orientation day for interested students and the general public, etc.
In the second year of its operation, WBI ran Certificate & Diploma courses concurrently.

At the time of the Institute’s formal take-off on December 14, 2013, membership of the Steering Committee, which became the first set of Directors, are:

- Deacon Dr. Dotun Akinfeleye – Dean of Studies & Instructor

- Brother Shola Babalola – Financial Secretary
External Support
External resource persons and facilitators who assisted the Steering Committee to fashion out WBI Program Structure are Rev. Regina Kehinde, Pastor Dr. Adebisi Oyesile, and Pastor Dr. Jannice McClean-Farrell.
Current Board
The current Board members serving along with the Program Director and Dean of Studies are Sister Modupe Fajobi and Elder Samuel Afuape.
